Lake Tazawa
With a depth of 423.4m, Lake Tazawa is Japan's deepest lake and is also famous for the azure blue color of its surface and the legend of Princess Tatsuko. The sight of the golden Tatsuko statue against the clear blue lake waters is particularly memorable. Kayaking and canoeing can be enjoyed in seasons other than winter.
